Haori and Michiyuki
羽織 Haori. The haori are jackets for kimonos, they were introduced in Japan in the period (1500-1600) exclusively for men who wore them over the kimono to make it even more formal, only later was it also used by women. They are made of silk and have decorations of all kinds and meanings such as some male models that embroider the kamon of their family, the female ones are equally decorated with landscapes and floral motifs.
The Michiyuki. jacket with a square neckline and buttons with a button closure, it is also worn over kimonos for warmth and protection, most Michiyuki have a secret pocket accessible with the right hand, there is no standard length. In the West it can be worn as a jacket or to complement outfits of all styles.
